Caring for your candle

Premium soy candles are beautiful, but there are a few things you should know to make the most of them …

Memory

Soy wax has a memory. This means your candle will burn exactly the same way each time you light it. Because of this, sometimes the candle does not burn all the way to the edge, creating something called tunnelling

The more you burn your candle, the stronger the scent becomes.

Tunnelling

Tunnelling is when the wax doesn’t burn all the way to the edge of the candle. To avoid this the first time you light your candle, once you have enough melted wax to create a layer, you simply roll that wax around to cover the top of your candle. The next time you light it, the wax should burn evenly, due to memory.

Mushrooming

Mushrooming is when a cluster forms at the top of the wick after burning. Sometimes this can throw off sparks. To avoid this, cut the cluster or ‘mushroom’ off each time before re-lighting your candle.
